1. nap: 打盹儿，小睡。

2. Kraut: <俚><贬>德国佬（尤指德国兵）。

3. sock: （用拳）猛击，殴打。例如：The man socked the thief in the nose.（那男子用拳头狠揍小偷的鼻子。）

4. warm up: （使）热心起来，（使）友好起来，（使）热情起来。看一下例子：It takes an hour or so for some children to warm up to strangers.（有些孩子得过个把小时才能与陌生人热乎起来。）

5. improvise: 即兴表演。请看例句：If an actor forgets his words, he has to improvise.（演员要是忘记台词，那就只好即兴现编。）

6. tights: 紧身衣。

7. casualty: （军队的）伤亡人员。

8. chorus girl: 歌舞女郎。

9. mountain range: 山脉。

10. fondue: 干酪火锅，源自瑞士，是把干酪煮溶，以面包蘸来吃的一种欧式火锅。影片中Steven不认识fondue这个词，误以为是“约会”的意思。

11. brave: 勇敢地面对。例如：They braved the storm to rescue their sheep.（他们冒着暴风雨抢救羊群。）

12. transponder: 发射机应答器。
