At the end of “Fantastic Four,” the team is relocated to a remote laboratory to continue working on a cure for their abilities. That place is briefly labeled as Central City, which might not mean anything to the casual viewer, but it means a lot to fans of the comic book series.

In the original series, Central City is the original working home of the “Fantastic Four.” The rocket base nearby is where the team launched into space on the mission that initially gave them their abilities.

More importantly, Central City is where the team faced off against their first villain foe — Mole Man. He attacked the compound with his Moloids but was thwarted by the team. His later attempts for revenge forced the Fantastic Four to team up with the Avengers to stop him after the Human Torch (Michael B. Jordan) set off a chain reaction in the Mole Man’s equipment.

更重要的是，团队在中心城市首次遭遇第一个敌人—鼹鼠人(Mole Man)。他用地底生物(Moloids)攻击团队反被击败。鼹鼠人(Mole Man)设备的连锁反应被霹雳火(Human Torch)迈克尔·B·乔丹(Michael B. Jordan饰演)引爆之后，他企图复仇，神奇四侠不得不与复仇者联盟(Avengers)联合起来阻止他。

The superhero team seemingly made short work of the villain in their origin movie that opened Aug. 7. If the franchise scores a sequel, despite rough reviews, could Mole Man be where the team is heading?

It’s possible, but don’t hold your breath that it will also lead to the Avengers team up. “Fantastic Four” is owned by 20th Century Fox, while “The Avengers” call Disney their home. It would take the studios agreeing on the creative track to take — and the profit split — for both superhero teams to appear in the same movie.

这很有可能，但别忘了复仇者(Avengers)团队也会因此崛起。《神奇四侠》属于二十世纪福克斯电影公司，《复仇者联盟》则是由迪斯尼电影公司(Disney)出品。要想让这两支超级英雄团队出现在同一银幕中，还需要两家电影公司对这一创新做法达成共识以及在其利润分配上做出协商。
