Dear Dr. White,

I am chairman of the International Students Club. We would be very grateful if you could give a talk on _ Great Britain in the Twentieth Century_ to our club on Friday evening, 19th October. If this subject does not suit you, any topic about this country would be most welcome.

Let us also give you some information about our club. It was founded a year ago to help foreign students in this city, who come from other countries. We give them chances to meet together, to exchange views and to listen to lectures given by famous speakers. We have already had several interesting talks made by well-known visitors from various countries. We eagerly hope to have a chance to benefit from your experience and wisdom.
