地道美语听力播客:去运动场 Going to the Playground
My wife was out of town on business and our nanny was sick, so I took the day off from work to take care of our two kids: Livia, who is two, and Augustus, who is three and a half. I thought that going to the playground would be a good thing to do, but it turned out to be an accident waiting to happen.
我妻子去镇外出差了，我们的保姆生病了，所以我得请一天假来照顾我的2个孩子：2岁的Livia和3岁半的Augustus。我愿以为带他们去运动场是件好事，但结果险些发生事故。
When we got to the playground, the kids jumped out of the car. Livia got onto the merry-go-round, pushing it as hard as she could. The trouble was, there were a couple of toddlersplaying on it and they fell backwards, getting the wind knocked out of them.
当我们来到运动场时，孩子们从车里跳了出去。Livia跑向旋转木马，使用全身力气去推木马。问题是：有2个刚学会走路的孩子在木马上玩，他们向后倾倒，受到了惊吓。
Augustus, on the other hand, ran straight for the swing set and almost got decapitated! Then he went over to the see-saw and almost got smashed when he tried to run under it! He ran out of my grasp and onto the jungle gym. He started hanging off the monkey bars. I caught him just in time as he fell!
另一方面Augustus直接跑向秋千架子，差点丢了小命。然后他又跑到跷跷板，当他在跷跷板下跑时差点被砸到。他跑出了我的控制范围，直接爬上格子爬梯。他开始放开单杠，当他坠落时我及时接住了他。
When I turned around, I saw that Livia had got onto the slide and slid head first into thesandbox! Good thing she wasn’t hurt.
转过身来，我看到Livia爬上滑梯，头向前直接滑进沙坑，还好她没受伤。
By this time, I realized my mistake. Far from a safe place to play, for two lively kids and one father, the playground was a deathtrap!
这时，我意识到了自己的错误，对2个活泼的孩子和1个父亲来说，运动场远不是一个玩耍的安全地方，而是一个危险的地方。
