　　1. 解词释义

　　大家都知道猴子喜欢爬高，跳跃和玩耍，往往是一刻也闲不住的，而且喜欢“钻研”。如果你扔些玩具给它，它总是会摆弄或捣鼓一下，所以monkey做动词时，就表示“摆弄，糊弄”“干预或扰乱他人的事物”“做恶作剧”的意思。对话中“Stop monkeying with my reading lamp! ”意思就是“别摆弄我的台灯”。

　　2. 典型范例

　　e.g. They warned us not to monkey with the machine.

　　他们警告我们不要乱动机器。

　　e.g. Nobody is allowed to monkey about with all these precision instruments !

　　不允许任何人瞎摆弄这些精密仪器!

　　e.g. He likes to monkey with old clocks and engines.

　　他喜欢摆弄旧钟和引擎。

　　Ps: have a look的意思是“看一看”。表示具体看什么，在短语后面用借此at，即为：have a look at。例如：I went east in May to have a look at him. 五月，我到东部去拜访他。He is on edge to have alook at it 他急于想看一看这东西。

　　1. 解词释义

　　Drag在俚语中指“累赘的或使人生厌的人或事物”。例如：Walking is a drag——let’s take the car. 走路太费事，我们做汽车吧。如果经常做那些累赘的或令人生厌的事，与不愉快的人相处，人自然觉得没劲儿。后来人们就用drag来指“没劲儿的事儿”。对话中“It is such a drag to deal with them again and again. ”的意思是“一次又一次地处理这件事情真没劲。”

　　2. 典型范例

　　e.g. She loves her family, but they're a drag on her career.

　　她热爱自己的家庭, 但家庭却是她事业的累赘。

　　e.g. Having to work late every day is a drag.

　　每天都得晚下班可真讨厌。

　　Ps 1：again and again的意思是“再三地，反复地”。例如：

　　Again and again the test met with no success. 这一试验一再遭到失败。

　　She ran a brush over her hair again and again. 她把头发梳了又梳。

　　Ps 2：deal with的意思是“处理，对付”。例如：

　　I deal with customers on the phone and rarely meet them face-to-face. 我用电话和客户打交道，很少和他们见面。

　　Moody people are very difficult to deal with. 喜怒无常的人很难打交道。
