A woman identified only as Jane Doe has accused the music executive of sexual harassment and abuse in New York Supreme Court on Wednesday. In documents obtained by PEOPLE, the woman claims Lovine, 70, committed crimes including “assault and battery.”

She is seeking damages as a result of being “sexually abused, forcibly touched, and subjected to sexual harassment and retaliation in violation of anti-discrimination laws in or around August 2007.”

Her case is filed under the Adult Survivors Act, which allows victims of sexual assault who were 18 years or older at the time of their abuse a one-year look-back period to file a lawsuit against their abuser and, if applicable, the institution that harbored them, no matter how long ago the crime occurred, per MSNBC.

Doe’s legal documents state that her amount for relief will be determined at trial for, but not limited to, physical injury, economic and compensatory damages, punitive damages, and attorney’s fees and costs.

The trial will take place in New York County, per the filing. The court summons was signed by attorneys Kevin Mintzer and Doug Wigdor.

PEOPLE reached out to Iovine's reps for comment and didn't immediately hear back. An unnamed spokesperson spoke with Variety in regard to the claim.

“We are quite shocked and baffled by this alleged claim,” a spokesperson for Iovine said in a statement to the outlet. “This inquiry is the first we’ve heard of this matter. No one has ever made a claim like this against Jimmy Iovine, nor have we been contacted or made aware of any complaint by anyone, including this unknown plaintiff prior to now.”

In addition to his work at Interscope, Iovine is widely known for co-founding Beats Electronics alongside Dr. Dre.

Iovine's attorney, Wigdor, is also a lawyer for Casandra Ventura, known professionally as Cassie. On Nov. 16, the “Me & U” singer filed a bombshell lawsuit against former boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging that the Bad Boy founder raped and sex trafficked her over the course of an abusive 10 years.

Her lawsuit, which also cited the New York’s Adult Survivors Act, accused him of exhibiting “uncontrollable rage” and alleged that he “frequently beat Ms. Ventura savagely,” violence she claims was witnessed by many of the people the music mogul employed.

Ventura also alleged that Combs would force her to engage with sex workers for what he called “freak offs,” or “FOs,” and that the encounters “always” included ecstasy, cocaine, GHB, ketamine, marijuana and alcohol.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Combs’ lawyer Ben Brafman denied the allegations, which he called “offensive and outrageous.”

"Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. Ms. Ventura's demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail," Brafman said.
