A search has begun for the man accused of murdering the mother of The Sandlot actor Marty York.

The Del Norte County Sheriff's Office announced in a post on Facebook that Deanna Esmaeel, York's mother, was found dead in her home on Thursday morning.

While the department advised that they cannot release further details because it is an ongoing homicide investigation, they shared that Esmaeel's boyfriend, Daniel James Walter, also known as Edward Patrick Davies, 54, is a suspect in the case.

According to their announcement, although authorities were able to locate Walter's vehicle on Friday, he remains at large.

York, 43, asked his followers to contact authorities immediately if Walter is spotted in a heartfelt post on Instagram.

Esmaeel was sworn in as a deputy with the Del Norte County Sheriff's Office in March 2021. At the time, the department shared an image from the ceremony on Facebook and explained that Esmaeel "always had a strong desire to be a law enforcement officer."
