Police in the U.S. arrested a man Thursday in connection with a mass shooting in South Carolina Wednesday. Twenty-one year old Dylann Storm Roof is suspected of killing nine people at an African-American church in the city of Charleston. Federal investigators say they will pursue hate crimes charges against the suspect.

美国警方周四时候逮捕一名涉嫌参与卡罗莱纳州南部周三枪击案犯罪嫌疑人。21岁的Dylann Storm Roof被怀疑杀害了卡罗莱纳州查尔斯顿非裔美国人教堂的9名人员。联邦调查人员称其将追加对犯罪嫌疑人的犯罪指控。

Investigators say the suspect walked into the church during a weekly prayer meeting. He sat with the churchgoers for about an hour before he started shooting.

The number of deaths from Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in South Korea has risen to 23, officials said Thursday. South Korea's health ministry said it has also confirmed three more cases of MERS. The total number of known infections is now 165.

官方周四时候称韩国中东呼吸综合症死亡人数已经上升到23人。韩国卫生部门表示其已经确定新增3例MERS确诊病例。目前患者总人数一共165人。

Thailand reported its first case of MERS. Thailand’s public health minister spoke to reporters in Bangkok. He said a heart patient from Oman is infected.

泰国也报道确诊一例MERS病例。泰国公共卫生部长在曼谷对记者这样说。他说来自阿曼的一名心脏病患者感染MERS。
