二、表示时间

1.at表示“黎明、午、夜、点与分”。

at dawn/at daybreak 在黎明时候　　　　at dusk 在黄昏

at midnight 在午夜　　　　　　　　　　at night 在夜间

at noon 在中午　　　　　　　　　　　　at sunrise 日出时分

at sunset 日落时分　　　　　　　　　　at six o’clock 在6点钟

at half past eleven 在11点半　　　　　at a quarter to two 1点45分

2.in

（1）表示“一天的上午、下午、晚上”。

in the morning/afternoon/evening 在早上/下午/晚上

in the daytime 在白天

in the night 在晚上

（2）表示“星期、月、季、年、世纪”等。

in 2006 在2006年　　　　　　　　　　　in May，2004 在2004年五月

in the 21st century 在21世纪　　　　　in a week 一周

in spring 春季　　　　　　　　　　　　in fall/autumn 在秋天

【提示】 如果特指某一天的上午、下午、晚上等，要用on。

on a cold winter morning 在一个寒冷的冬日早上

3.on表示具体的某一天。

on Thursday 在星期四　　　　　　　　　on a summer’s day 在夏季的一天

on his birthday 在他生日那天　　　　　on Christmas Day 在圣诞节那天

【提示】 at Christmas 在圣诞节期间。

4.in，for

（1）“in+时间名词”意为“在……时候”；“in+段时间”意为“……时间之后”。

They worked there in winter.他们冬季在那里工作。

We will work there in a winter.一个冬季之后我们要在那里工作。

（2）“for+段时间”意为“有多久”。

We worked there for the winter.我们在那里工作了一个冬季。

I walked up and down my bedroom for a long time.

我在自己的卧室来回踱步了很长时间。

5.since，after

（1）since表示的时间一直延续到说话时为止，要与现在完成时连用。

He has been there twice since 1982.自1982年以来我去过那里两次。

I have done nothing since six o’clock.六点钟之后，我什么也没做。

（2）after表示的时间是过去，常和一般过去时连用。

He went home after school.放学后，他回了家。

6.till/until，to

（1）till/until 常用于“from ...till/until”中，表示“一个动作的终结”；to 常用于“from ...to”中，表示“一个阶段的终结”。

He studies from morning till/until night every day.他每天从早到晚地学习。

They stayed here from June to September.他们在这里从六月待到九月。

（2）延续性动词用于till/until的肯定句中，短暂性动词用于“not ...until”中。

I slept till/until ten o’clock.我睡到十点。

I didn’t go to bed till/until ten o’clock.直到十点我才睡觉。

7.by，before

（1）by意为“到……以前”、“不迟于”、“到……时（为止）”。

I will finish my task by nine.我将在九点钟前完成任务。

The plane takes off at 10：00，so you must try to be at the airport by 9：30.

飞机在十点钟起飞，所以你必须在九点半赶到机场。

（2）before意为“在……以前”。

The students won’t go home before they finish their homework.

学生们要先完成作业才能回家。

The woman worked in the factory before 1990.

1990年以前这位妇女在这家工厂上班。
