聊一聊曼德拉的一生，为什么他被关了27年

来听今天的讲解:

A: I've had a great idea for a movie, Nelson Mandela.

我有个好主意，拍一部有关纳尔逊•曼德拉的电影。

B: Well. that would certainly be an intcrcsting topic.

这个话题肯定有意思。

A: I thought that we could start in his childhood, his life in prison and then his achievements later in life

我想我们可以从他的童年开始讲起，接着是狱中生活，再下来是他晚年所取得的成就。

B: Sounds good. Mandela was educated at a local mission school.  He entered the University College of Fort Hare and quickly became active in student politics.

听起来不错。曼德拉是在当地一所教会学校上的学，后来进入了海尔堡大学，很快就成了学生政治运动的积极分子。

A: Is that why hc was kicked out of university?

他是不是因为这个被大学开除了？

是这样。我认为在当时那个时代，他讲话太大胆了。

A: So then he moved to Johannesburg and finished his university education. He then entcred into the study and subsequendy the practice of law.

所以后来他搬到了约翰内斯堡，在那里上完了大学。接着也开始钻研法律，随后就开业当律师。

B: I think law was a good choice of major for him.

我想，对他而言法律专业是最佳选择。

A: After that, he formed the ANC ( African NationaJ Congrress) Youth League, to transform the ANC from an elitist political union into a more broadly-based politicaJ movement.

此后，他组建了非洲人国民大会（非国大）青年联盟，把非国大从一个由少数精英参与的政治联盟变成了广大群众参与的政治运动。

B: As the apartheid policy began to reach deeper into South Afiican life, Mandela found himself constandy in opposition to the official political line of the Afrikaner-dominated govemment. He was banned, then arrested during the late 1950s.

由于种族隔离政策开始越来越深地影响了南非人民的生活，曼德拉经常发现自己与南非白人领导的政府立场相反。20世纪50年代末他被禁止参加公众集会，随后遭到逮捕。
