A: So, you know, you have a very small school. Have you ever worked for a large school before?
 
你办了一家小型学校。你以前在大型学校工作过吗？
 
B: Yes, I've worked basically every different type of school possible to work here in Japan, starting with the kindergarden, junior high, senmongakko. I was at a university for four years and I also did a little bit of intensive English camps just a couple of years ago.
 
有，我基本上在日本各种不同类型的学校工作过，从幼儿园、高中到职业学校，我都工作过。我曾在大学任教四年，几年前我也在强化英语训练营工作过。
 
A: So you said senmongakko. What's that?
 
你刚说到了职业学校，那是什么？
 
B: That's a kind of technical or vocational college. It's a two year school.
 
类似于技术或是职业学校。是两年制学校。
 
A: OK.

B: Yeah, I forgot to mention that I also taught at business company classes and of course, ei-kaiwa or language school here, too.
 
哦，我刚才忘了说我还在商业公司的课程上当过老师，当然也在日本的语言学校任过教。
 
A: OK, do you think that, you know, when you have your own... from a teaching point of view, when you have your own school, is the instruction different for a small language school compared to a big language school?
 
好，你认为，有了自己的……从教学的角度来说，你开办了自己的学校后，你认为小型语言学校和大型语言学校的教学指导有区别吗？
 
B: Well, the instruction is just depending on the teacher I think, and right now I'm the only full-time teacher and, you know, the guest teachers who do come, I know them personally so I know that the students always have a very qualified teacher and maybe that may be different because you know, sometimes at a big school it's hard to really monitor the teachers that you hire and even monitor what they are doing in the classroom.
 
我认为教学方法取决于老师，现在我是唯一一个全职老师，你知道我会邀请一些客座讲师来授课，我认识这些客座讲师，所以我知道给学生们讲课的是称职的老师，这可能是不同点，因为有时大型学校很难监督所聘请的老师，更别说监督这些老师在课堂上的讲课内容了。
 
A: Right. Now, when you talk about a good quality teacher, for you what makes a good quality teacher?
 
好。刚才你谈到了高素质的老师，你认为高素质的老师要具备什么特质？
 
B: Well, I think personality is very important for one thing, but also I think students need and want a teacher who has experience teaching English. Some of my friends back home tend to think it's easy to just be a native English speaker and teach English, which is really not the case, so I value an experienced teacher and someone who's also studied a little about it and has a TEFL certificate or something like that.
 
嗯，我认为品格非常重要，当然学生们需要的是拥有英语教学经验的老师。我家乡的一些朋友往往认为母语是英语的人叫英语非常容易，但其实并不是这样，我看重老师的经验，还有学习过教学知识的人，最好有英语教师资格证之类的证书。
