休闲对话：我不知道不能这样做

妈妈: Little Tom, come here, I have something want to ask you.

小汤姆，过来，我有件事要问你。

汤姆: What is the matter, Mom?

什么事啊，妈妈?

妈妈: Do you know who put the chicken into the lake?

你知道是谁把小鸡放进湖里的吗?

汤姆: It is me,Mom, I want the chilcken to learn swimming.

是我，妈妈。我想让小鸡学游泳。

妈妈: You made a mistake, did you realize?

你犯错了，你知道吗?

汤姆: I don’t know what kind of mistake I made?

我不知道我犯什么错了?

妈妈: The chicken can’t swim. You put it into the lake,it would be drowned.

小鸡是不会游泳的，如果你把它放进湖里，它会淹死的。

汤姆: Sorry, I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to.

对不起，我不知道不能这样做。

妈妈: So remember, the duck can swim but the chicken can’t.

记住咯，鸭子会游泳，但是小鸡不会。

汤姆: I know,Mom.
