让埃比尼泽想象不到的是，七年前去世的合伙人约瑟夫•马利的鬼魂居然找上门来。约瑟夫看上去备受煎熬，因为他要为他生前的无情与冷漠付出代价。约瑟夫希望埃比尼泽不要走上自己的老路，并警告埃比尼泽将会有三个幽灵来拜访他。

本片改编自查尔斯•狄更斯创作于1843年的同名小说，本片是迪士尼第一部将以IMAX 3D方式发行的影片，影片中的人物表情都是通过“表演捕捉”完成的。
