Based on the statistics provided in the pie chart, we might conclude that people like apple pie most, then pumpkin pie, next cherry pie, but pecan pie and coconut pie are not so popular. 1 The pie preferences reveal people’s preference for different fruits. 2

The flavor and taste as well as cultural background could account for people’s preference for different fruits. 3 Apple pie is the most popular, making up 36%. The popularity could be attributed to the following reasons: apples are one of the most common fruits, easy to store and available all around the year; traditionally apples symbolize good things, and famous remarks, such as “apple of one’s eye”, “an apple a day keeps doctors away”, can also account for that.

Pumpkin pie takes the second place, making up 30%. As we know, pumpkin is often associated with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other special occasions.
