There are no excessive choices for us to live in the world: either step forward into growth, or step backward into safety. 1
We may face all kinds of difficulties unexpectedly in the process of advancing. We may also confront frustration and failure. However, these experiences are valuable assets for us, which will enrich our experience, improve our ability, help us grow and lead us to success eventually. 2
If we choose stepping backward, we can get to safety; however, this is transitory. Although we don’t need to meet difficulties and challenges actively, we have to make effort just to keep the temporary safety within the development of the society. Just as the truth that “In the future, the only constant is change. If you don’t change, you will be washed out by the constantly changing future”, told in the book Who Moved My Cheese ? 3
In a word, life is like sailing against the current: either you keep forging ahead or you keep falling behind. If you advance bravely, the success is just around the corner waiting for you. If you draw back to your cosy nest, you won’t have any chance to succeed. 4
