balls 睾丸，有胆，有种，厚脸皮，充沛的精力，吸引力，称呼(在下、阁下、他老兄)

Balls 一字，除“睾丸”之意义外，也用以表示“谴责，非难，批评，有胆，有种，厚脸皮，充沛的精力或吸引力，个人自称，在下”等。是名词时，通常作 got，has，break，bust，take 等动词的宾语，以形容词 some，some pair of (不得了的，大得不得了的)形容之；也可赞赏“大男人气概的行动或表现”，通常作动词 take，have 的宾语，且后者的例子较多。 Balls 作个人，自称“在下”，他称“阁下、老兄、他老兄、她老姐、这家伙”解时，等同 ass (贬抑或戏称)，如 The boss will have his balls for that. (因为那事老板会跟他老兄算账。)；balls-out 当合成形容词时，通常随 go 之后，以表示“全面，全力以赴，以最高的速度……”；balls 当惊叹词时，表示“失望、认命或怄气”解，请看例句。ball一字语气粗俗，正式社交场所仍忌使用，雅士淑女尤然。

3. ended up 到最后，结果……，以……告终，是起了连系动词(linking verb)的作用。故shooting是现在分词作主语(They)的补语。end up通常后随with，as，in 等介词短语，或 being，doing，going等现在分词当补语。Ended up going fishing也是一样。
