旅游英语：颐和园是著名的皇家园林

Lily：

The Summer Palace is one of the most famous Imperial Gardens. During various periods of war, it suffered extensive damage.

颐和园是中国最著名的皇家园林之一。经过战乱，遭到过严重的破坏。

Tom：

It's a surprise that the Summer Palace is so well-preserved.

 

颐和园能保存得这么完好，完全出乎我的意料。

Lily：

It was rebuilt one hundred years ago and has been through many processes of restoration.

一百多年以前曾经重建过一次，后来又进行过多次修缮，才有现在的面貌。

Tom：

Is that hill in the distance a part of the Summer Palace?

远处那座山也是颐和园的吗?

Lily：

No, that hill is called Yuquan Hill and isn't a part of the Summer Palace. The only hill that is a part of the Summer Palace is Wanshou Hill.

远处的那座山叫玉泉山，不在颐和园里边，在颐和园里只有一座山，就是万寿山。

Tom：

What an ingenious layout! It completely incorporates its natural surroundings.
