a Swedish study has uncovered a paradox about people diagnosed with excessive fear of serious illness: they tend to die earlier than people who aren't hypervigilant about health concerns. The study was published Wednesday in JAMA Psychiatry. 

瑞典的一项研究发现了一个悖论：被诊断为过度恐惧严重疾病的人往往比对健康问题不太警惕的人死得早。这项研究于周三发表在《JAMA Psychiatry》上。

Researchers were curious about the condition known as hypochondria, people with that are unable to shake their fears despite normal physical exams and lab tests. The researchers found that people with the diagnosis have an increased risk of death from both natural and unnatural causes, particularly suicide. 

研究人员对一种被称为疑病症的疾病感到好奇，这种疾病患者尽管进行了正常的体检和实验室测试，但仍无法摆脱恐惧。研究人员发现，被诊断为疑病症的人死于自然和非自然原因的风险较高，尤其是自杀。
