经济学笑话：交易

39. Trade

An experienced economist and a rookie economist are walking down the road. They come across【1】 a spoiled banana lying on the asphalt. Says the experienced economist, "If you eat it I'll give you $20,000!"

The rookie economist runs his optimization model and figures out he's better off 【2】 eating it so he does and collects money.

Continuing along the same road they almost step on 【3】 a spoiled apple. The rookie economist states, "Now, if YOU eat this apple I'll give YOU $20,000." After evaluating the proposal, the experienced economist eats the spoiled apple, and gets the money.

As they go on, the rookie economist starts thinking and states, "Listen, we both have the same amount of money we had before, but we both ate spoiled fruit. I don't see us being better off."

The experienced economist states, "Well, that's true, but you overlook the fact that we've just been involved in 【4】 $40,000 of trade."

他们接着往前走，菜鸟经济学家开始思索并说道：“听着，我们两个现在拥有的金钱数量和之前的完全一样，可是我们两人都吃了个烂水果。我看不出我们的境况有所改善了。”

资深经济学家说道：“哦，没错，不过你忽视了一个事实：我们刚刚完成了一项四万美元的交易。”

背景知识与点评

·经济学认为贸易或交易让双方的境遇都得以改善（或者说效用都得以提高），这是因为双方各以具有绝对优势或比较优势的产品与对方进行交换，双方都从交易中得到好处，因此彼此的福利都会提高。

·但是，本笑话中的故事就不符合贸易或交易的条件。表面上看双方是进行了交易，但是交易的内容却不是各自的具有绝对或相对优势的产品。当勤于思考的菜鸟经济学家产生质疑的时候，资深经济学家就只好自圆其说了。

·更恶心的笑话版本则是把烂水果改为狗屎，笑话的结论是虽然二人的交易结果并没有增加实际财富，但是总的GDP却增加了。
