True Confess

Becky was on her deathbed，with her husband Jake at her side. He held her cold hand and tears silently streamed down his face. Her pale lips moved.

“Jake，”she said quietly.

“Hush，”he quickly interrupted，“don’t talk.”

But she insisted.“Jake，”she said in her tired voice“I have to talk. I must confess.”

“There is nothing to confess，”said the weeping Jake.“It’s all right. Everything’s all right.”

“No，no. I must die in peace. I must confess，Jake，that I have been unfaithful to you.”

Jake stroked her hand，squeezed it and sobbingly told her，“Now Becky，don’t be concerned. I know all about it，”he cried uncontrollably.“Why else would I poison you？”

真情告白

贝基奄奄一息，丈夫杰克坐在她身旁。他握着她冰冷的手，眼泪静静地流下脸颊。她惨白的嘴唇嚅动着。

“杰克。”她静静地说。

“别出声，”丈夫很快打断她说，“不要说话。”

但她仍用那软弱无力的声音坚持道：“杰克，我必须要说，我必须坦白。”

“不需要什么坦白，”丈夫抽泣着说，“会变好的，一切都会变好的。”

“不，不，我一定要坦白，否则死不瞑目。杰克，我一直对你不忠。”

杰克抚摸着她的手，紧紧地握着，哭诉道：“贝基，不要难过。我早就知道了。”他情难自禁地哭起来，“否则的话，我就不会给你下毒了。”
