老挝前总理逝世，享年92岁

Sisavath Keobounphanh, one of Laos’ first generals, passed away at 7:09 am on May 12 at the age of 92.

5月12日上午7点09分，老挝第一批将领西沙瓦·乔本潘(Sisavath Keobounphanh)逝世，享年92岁。

General Sisavath Keobounphanh served as a member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee from the 1st to 8th tenures, Secretary of the LPRP Central Committee for the 3rd and 4th terms, and a member of the Politburo during the 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th tenures, the LPRP Central Committee said in an announcement on May 12 evening.

老挝中央委员会在5月12日晚上在一份声明中表示，西沙瓦·乔本潘将军曾任一至八届老挝人民革命党中央委员会委员，三、四届任委员会秘书，四、六、七、八届任政治局委员。

He was also Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and Minister of Interior before serving as Vice President of Laos from 1996 – 1998 and Prime Minister from 1998 – 2001, it said.

报道称，在1996-1998年担任老挝副总统和1998-2001年担任老挝总理之前，他还担任过农业和林业部长和内政部长。

A state funeral will be held for the late general from now until May 16./.

从现在起到5月16日，将为已故将军举行国葬。
