多吃健康食品 变聪明宝宝

According to a recent research by scientists from the University of Bristol, children brought up on healthy diets are more intelligent compared with their junk food-eating counterparts.


英国布里斯托大学科学家最新研究发现,从小就吃健康食品的孩子比那些吃“垃圾食品”长大的同龄人更加聪明。

 

In the study, scientists tracked the long term health of around 14,000 children born in 1991 and 1992.


科学家追踪调查了1991年和1992年两年内出生的14000名儿童的健康状况。

 

The scientists found that a predominantly processed food diet at the age of three was associated with a lower IQ at the age of eight and a half, irrespective of whether the diet improved after that age. Every one point increase in dietary pattern score was associated with a 1.67 fall in IQ.


科学家们发现,无论后来饮食改进与否,3岁就已开始吃“垃圾食品”的孩子,八岁半时的智商确实偏低。其中,饮食类型每增加1分,智商便降低1.67。

 

Brain grows at its fastest rate during the first three years of life – indicating that head growth at this time is linked to intellectual ability, according to researcher Kate Northstone. "This suggests any cognitive and behavioral effects relating to eating habits in early childhood may well persist into later childhood, despite any subsequent changes," she said.


研究员凯特称,大脑在人类出生后的前三年里生长速度最快,这意味着此期间的大脑生长状况同智力息息相关。“研究表明,不管以后变化如何,这种儿童在早期同饮食习惯相关的认知行为状况将有可能持续到童年晚期。”
