谷歌获准继续在华营业

       China today renewed Google's licence to continue operating in the country, the search giant announced today.

　　搜索行业巨头今日宣布，中国更新了谷歌的营业牌照，允许其在国内继续经营。

　　The decision secures Google's foothold in the country's fast-growing internet market despite tensions over censorship.

　　尽管审查制度方面还有些紧张的势头，这项决定让谷歌在网络发展如此迅速的中国市场站稳了脚跟。

　　The deal had been in doubt because of the dispute between Google and China over hacking of Gmail accounts and censorship of search results.

　　这笔交易一度被人怀疑，因为在取消Gmail邮箱和对搜索结果审查的问题上，谷歌和中国方面一直存在争议。

　  Google closed its China search engine in March but wanted to keep a website that offers music and other services.

　　谷歌曾经在三月份关闭了其在中国区的搜索引擎，但是他们想维持自己的网页，来提供音乐和其他服务。

　　Google's lawyer David Drummond said: 'We are very pleased that the government has renewed our ICP (internet content provider) licence and we look forward to continuing to provide web search and local products to our users in China.

　　谷歌首席律师大卫德拉蒙德表示：“我们很高兴中国政府已经更新了我们的ICP（因特网内容供应商）营业执照，我们期待继续在中国为用户们提供网络搜索和本地服务。”
    Users had been automatically redirected to Google's uncensored Hong Kong site, but the company stopped that last week after China warned the move could mean losing its licence.

　　用户们已自动转入谷歌香港区不受审查的网页，但是，中国警告这一举动将意味着被取消牌照，公司在上周停止了这一做法。

　　Google's relations with Beijing have been troubled since the US company said it no longer wanted to cooperate with government internet censorship.
