　　Manitowoc, Wisconsin

　　In September 1962, a chunk of glowing debris from Sputnik 4—one of the first Earth-orbiting satellites, launched by the Soviet Union—fell from the sky onto a street in downtown Manitowoc. The Russians reclaimed the piece, but the town hosts an annual festival to commemorate its arrival. Highlights: a Miss Space Debris contest—costumes made out of aluminum foil are common—and an Artta This World art fair.

　　1962年9月，人造卫星4号的残骸从太空坠落到马尼托沃克的街道上，这个卫星是前苏联发射的第一批人造地球卫星中的一个。虽然后来俄国人要回了残骸，但是这个小镇每年都要纪念一下这颗卫星的造访。注意！这不仅是为纪念一颗陨落卫星的竞赛，因为参赛者要身着由铝箔做成的服装，更是一场世界艺术盛宴。
