　　(一)标题的翻译。这篇小说的标题看似简单，只有一个单词，但却是整篇小说的核心和灵魂，是对小说内容的概括，在翻译标题时，要结合文章主题、文化语境等多方面的因素来考虑，以便使这个标题起到画龙点睛的作用。

　　(二)专有名词的翻译。这篇小说中出现了很多涉及体育运动和法律方面的专有词汇，对于其词义的确定很重要。在《英汉互译实用教程》这本书中提出：“确定词义很不容易，但又很重要。弄错了，往往会贻笑大方或造成实际工作中的很大失误。”因此，在确定词义的时候一定要结合上下文的理解，查阅字典和相关资料，弄清楚确切含义，否则会让译作黯然失色。

　　(五)风格的保持。现代语言学认为，风格的产生必须借助于特定的语言形式：句法、语法、修辞以及语境和衔接。也就是说风格，第一是就文本来说，看是散文、小说呢，还是科技材料;第二，是看原文人物的好坏，原文的词义色彩，是褒义还是贬义。这两点综合考虑在胸，就大体把握了风格问题。对于这篇小说，为了保持原有作品的风格，一方面采取直译的地方为多数，因为作家的现实主义基调，采用直译能更好地保持作品原有的味道。另一方面虽然译者尽量直译，但当直译无法达意时，也采用直译加注释或意译的手法。
