The historic city of Seville attracts food lovers from all over the world – it is where the tapa (small plate of food) was invented. People in Spain say they live on the street (they spend more time outside than inside the house), and the cafes, bars and promenades in Seville are no exception to this rule. The fact that small tapas are served at most restaurants in the city means that you can easily eat out on a regular basis. However, besides the famous tapas, the following dishes are equally delicious.

Oxtail

One of the best dishes in Seville is stewed rabo / cola de toro, or oxtail. The tail is divided into thick pieces and cooked slowly for hours, in red wine sauce and vegetables (usually onions and carrots, but the exact recipe varies from place to place). The result is a dish of soft oxtail that has a great rich taste. The bars around Seville's historic bullring are the best places to try this traditional dish, as you can enjoy it in its proper context: eating while seeing the walls plastered with bullfighting equipment and cow head mount. The tail is often served with crisps and bread wedges and delicious sauces.

Often served with a piece of fried bread, this delicious dish will satisfy even the most meat-loving people.

In Seville, they are sold in pastry shops. However, many restaurants serve this great dessert throughout the year.
