Choosing to give children nutritious foods is always a challenge because the foods they have to ensure are attractive to them but healthy.

Most children like to eat sweet and tend to drink sugary drinks. However, you absolutely must not be easy to follow the interests of the children, here are 4 drinks to avoid for children, some are especially dangerous.

1. Soda and sweet drink

Soda as well as other sweet drinks are best not recommended for children. A cup of soft drink about 354ml contains 39 grams of sugar or nearly 10 teaspoons of sugar.

The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends that a daily intake of just under 6 teaspoons (25 grams) of sugar for 2-year-old children.

Sweetened drinks are associated with an increased risk of diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in children. Also, drinking too many sweet drinks can contribute to weight gain and tooth decay in children.

含糖饮料与疾病风险增加有关,如2型糖尿病和儿童非酒精性脂肪肝。而且,喝太多的甜饮料会导致儿童体重增加和蛀牙。

2. Juice

果汁

Although 100% fruit juice provides important vitamins and minerals, it should be restricted for children to use.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that children aged 1-6 should only drink fruit juice in the range of 120–180 ml per day, children aged 7-18 should be limited to about 236-355 ml per day.

美国儿科学会(AAP)建议1-6岁的儿童每天只能喝120-180毫升的果汁,7-18岁的儿童每天只能喝236-355毫升的果汁。

When consumed in this amount, 100% fruit juice is often unrelated to weight gain. However, excessive consumption of fruit juice increases the risk of obesity in children.

Because fruit juices lack fiber, children easily drink too much. Therefore, it is best for children to eat fruit instead of water. The AAP recommends that fruit juice be completely restricted in children under one year of age.

因为果汁缺乏纤维,儿童很容易喝太多。因此,孩子们最好吃水果而不是喝果汁。美国儿科学会建议,一岁以下的儿童完全限制饮用果汁。

3. Beverages containing caffeine

含咖啡因的饮料

Many children who drink caffeinated drinks - such as soda, coffee and energy drinks - can have health effects.

One study reported that about 75% of American children ages 6 to 19 consume caffeine. In which 2-11 year old children consume an average of 25mg per day, 12-17 year old children consume twice the amount.

一项研究报告称,大约75%的6到19岁的美国儿童摄入咖啡因。2-11岁的儿童平均每天摄入25毫克,而12-17岁儿童的摄入量是这个量的两倍。

Caffeine can cause feelings of restlessness, tachycardia, high blood pressure, anxiety and sleep disorders in children, which is why caffeinated beverages should be restricted based on age.

咖啡因会导致儿童焦躁不安、心动过速、高血压、焦虑和睡眠障碍,这就是为什么咖啡因饮料应该根据年龄限制。

4. Alcohol

酒精

Alcohol is the most dangerous drink for children. Many adults when drinking and drinking often like to tease children by having them taste a little alcohol to see their reaction. However, this is extremely harmful.
