In 1994, the couple Donna Lennard and Alberto Avalle started their lunch business at their antique store in Manhattan. Their rustic Italian cuisine quickly brought the name of Il Buco restaurant to diners everywhere, including famous artists and actors.

Like the "brother" in New York, this restaurant is also decorated with classical furniture. Handmade ceramic dishes were brought from the Lennard family.
