2. "The Towering Inferno"

The 1974 effects don't hold up but the story does. Directed by JohnGuillermin and starring Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, and William Holden,"The Towering Inferno" finds its victims trapped in a high risebuilding on fire (thus the film's title) and the audience is kept onthe edge of their seats never knowing who amongst the star-studded castis going to buy the farm next。
《火烧摩天楼》是1974年的老片子了，当年的特效别指望啥了，不过故事还是相当出彩，保罗·纽曼等人的演绎也很出色。故事讲的就是一栋摩天大楼着了火，楼里人们无处逃生。观众们都看得神经紧张，不知道下一个轮到谁挂掉。
