491　think, think about, think of和think over

1　think 是及物动词。

（1）表示“想，思考”。

What are you thinking ? 你在想什么？

I am thinking when to do it. 我在思考什么时候做这件事。

He thought that it was time to go to bed. 他想该是睡觉时间了。

（2）表示“认为”，结构为：

think sb./sth.+宾语补足语 （名词或形容词 ）

think+that从句

I think him clever. 我认为他聪明。

I think her a good student. 我认为她是一个好学生。

I think (that) he is honest. 我认为他是诚实的。

（3） think后的宾语从句如果表示否定意义，常常否定主句中的think，从句用肯定式。注意这种“否定词的转移”，汉语说法同英语说法不同。

比较

我想我并不认识他。（汉语中否定宾语从句）

I don't think I know him.（英语中否定主句）

我认为明天不会下雨。

I don't think it will rain tomorrow.

我认为你不对。

I don't think you are right.

I don't think he will come. （正） 我认为他不会来。

I think he won't come . （正）

2　think about 表示“考虑，思考”，指从各方面去思考，相当于consider，结构为：

think about+sth. （名词或代词 ）

think about+doing sth.

think about+疑问代词或疑问副词+不定式

I am thinking about the problem. 我在考虑这个问题。

I am thinking about borrowing some money. 我在考虑着借一些钱。

Can you think about having another try? 你能考虑一下再试一次吗？

I must think about how to work out the problem. 我必须考虑一下如何解决这个问题。

I have thought about what to say to her. 我已经考虑过对她说什么了。

3　think of 表示“想起，记起”，相当于remember, think of 还表示“认为，关心”。

She thought of her schooldays. 她想起了自己的学生时代。

I'm thinking of the painting. 我正在想到那幅画。

What do you think of the house? 你认为这所房子怎样？

He never thinks of other people. 他从不关心别人。

4　think over 表示“仔细考虑，反复考虑”，结构为：

think over+名词

think+代词+over

think over+what等引导的从句

Let me think it over . 让我仔细考虑一下这件事。

He thought over the matter. 他把那件事认真考虑了一下。

Let me think over what you have said. 让我仔细想想你讲的话。
