Educators should teach facts only after their students have studied the ideas, trends, and concepts that help explain those facts.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position.

五问：

翻译练习：

我们的知识不是通过累积纯粹的事实而扩展的。它是在发现事实背后隐藏的抽象原理，然后通过对事实的预测来检验原理的可信性的过程中建立起来的。在这种意义上，事实和概念是以一种互补的关系存在的，同时会各自加深我们对另一方的理解；把它们按先后顺序排列是过于专制和不理智的做法。

Our knowledge doesn't extend through pure accumulation of facts. Instead, it establishes itself in the process of discovering the abstract principle behind these facts and then testing the credibility of the principle through prediction of facts. In this sense, facts and concepts exist in a complementary relationship, each deepening our understanding of the other; it is too arbitrary and unsensible to put them in sequential order.
