In Chinese, for example, some traits or qualities of human being are given to pine, bamboo, plum（梅） and orchid（兰花）. We can try to empathize and get the hidden meaning, the contextual meaning.

英语文化中，也会赋予植物一些特质（traits or qualities）

*olive trees：橄榄树

圣经中，鸽子叼着橄榄枝回到诺亚方舟，表示洪水结束，平安到来。

*fig tree：无花果树（wealth and blessing）

无花果树，还有葡萄枝都是耶稣经常用到的比喻，就像好佛教里的菩提树一样。
