A newspaper organized a contest for the best answer to the question: "If a fire broke out in the Louvre, and if you could only save one painting, which one would you carry out?"

The winning reply was: "The one nearest the exit."

1.contest竞赛。也可以指“搏斗”： This is man's contest with nature.这是人与大自然的搏斗。

2.the Louvre卢浮宫(现为国立美术博物馆)。

3.break out突然发生。 The Second World War broke out in September 1939.第二次世界大战爆发于1939年9月。

4.exit出口。也可以作动词，指“离去”： She exited in a hurry.她匆忙离去。
