Face the music可不是“面对音乐”，真正的意思和你想象得完全不同！

“Music”是我们生活中必不可少的一种听觉享受，没有音乐，生活在某些时候会变得索然无味。有了音乐的日子，让平凡的场景也变得多姿多彩。但是今天学习的这个俚语“Face the music”可不是它字面的意思“面对音乐”。这个俗语真正意思可能让你完全想象不到。

receive criticism or punishment, accept unpleasant consequences of your actions

接受批评或惩罚, 承担自己行为的后果;

起源：

这个短语始于美国19世纪。据说是来源于剧场。在舞台上，演员经常会由于紧张或怯场而造成忘词等尴尬的局面，只要音乐一响，演员就没有任何选择的余地，只能去face the music（必须承受出现的局面）。人们遂用face the music指承担自己行为的后果。
