Here's the story: A long time ago in Ethiopia, there was this queen named Cassiopeia, who thought she was the most beautiful woman in the entire world, and there wasn't anybody in the kingdom who wasn't offended by this woman's relentless vanity. And then one day, she really screwed up and offended the gods. I don't remember what she did and I don't remember who she offended. But it was bad. She crossed the line. But anyway, Poseidon, the sea god, punished Cassiopeia by placing her in the heavens upside down in her throne, stuck for eternity with her skirt around her shoulders, and all the blood rushing to her head. And now she's just a constellation in the sky, a bunch of English freckles in the shape of a throne. So she made one tragic mistake.
Sara: And paid for eternity.

剧情介绍
美国影片《缘分天注定》由约翰·库萨克、凯特·贝金赛尔等主演，被评为必须要看的十大经典浪漫爱情电影。讲述的是一对男女一见钟情的故事。
1990年的冬天，在一个熙熙攘攘、忙忙碌碌的休息日里，人们都在为亲朋好友选购着圣诞节的礼物，乔纳森因为一双羊毛手套认识了莎拉，在人潮涌动的纽约市街头，两个陌生人神奇般地被对方所吸引。尽管事实上，他们各自都有着情感的归宿，但仍然无可救药地在这个浪漫的夜晚坠入了爱河，还情不自禁地在曼哈顿的夜色里漫步了一整夜。
然而，夜晚总是要消失的，黎明来临时，两人不得不做出下一步的决定。当乔纳森提议互相交换电话号码时，莎拉决定将两人的再次相遇寄托在缘分上，她拿出五元钞票，让乔纳森写上他的联系方式，然后径直走到杂货店用这张钞票买了口香糖，莎拉说，倘若有缘，纸币一定能再回到她的手里，到那时她会立刻与乔纳森联系。同时，她还把自己的联系方式留在了一本旧书上，并将书卖给了一个旧书摊，随后两人分手离去，一切全看天意和缘分了……

幕后制作
导演彼德·切尔瑟姆开始读剧本时，就被故事的“缘”情吸引，他看到剧本中男女主角千方百计寻找对方，但每次都失之交臂的时候，都会为他们的命运感到紧张。他认为影片中的男女主角最终能走到一起，其实一开始就已出现了许多浪漫征兆，这可简单的归结为机缘。而《缘分天注定》就是一部讲述机缘的电影。当爱情来临时，人们不知道何时会失去，就像片中的男女主角那样一见钟情，欢度八小时后却彼此失去了对方，但他们一直坚持爱情完美的一面，是这种执著终于让他们走到了一起。
