阿波罗计划
阿波罗计划（Apollo Project），又称阿波罗工程，是美国从1961年到1972年从事的一系列载人登月飞行任务。美国于20世纪60年代至70年代初组织实施的载人登 月工程，或称“阿波罗”计划。它是世界航天史上具有划时代意义的一项成就。工程开始于1961年5月，至1972年12月第6次登月成功结束，历时约11 年，耗资255亿美元。在工程高峰时期，参加工程的有2万家企业、200多所大学和80多个科研机构，总人数超过30万人。
1969年7月16日，巨大的“土星5号”火箭载着“阿波罗11号”飞船从美国肯尼迪角发射场点火升空，开始了人类首次登月的太空征程。美国宇航员 尼尔·阿姆斯特朗、埃德温·奥尔德林、迈克尔·科林斯驾驶着阿波罗11号宇宙飞船跨过38万公里的征程，承载着全人类的梦想踏上了月球表面。这确实是一个 人的小小一步，但是整个人类迈出的伟大一步。他们见证了从地球到月球梦想的实现，这一步跨过了5000年的时光。
阿波罗名称由来
阿波罗是古代希腊神话传说中的一个掌管诗歌和音乐的太阳神，传说他是月神的胞弟，曾用金箭杀死巨蟒，替母亲报仇雪恨。美国政府选用这位能报仇雪恨的太阳神来命名登月计划，其心情可想而知。
月球的探索历史
人类对月球的探测研究开始于20世纪50年代，美国和前苏联两国在冷战的背景下进行了激烈的太空竞赛。
1957年，前苏联发射了世界上第一颗人造地球卫星。
1961年4月12日，前苏联的“东方”号宇宙飞船进入太空，尤里、加加林身穿90公斤重的太空服，成为世界上第一个进入宇宙空间并从宇宙中看到地球全貌的航空勇士。加加林的名字，连同他那迷人的微笑，传遍了世界每个角落。记下了载人航天这篇史诗画卷的浓重一笔。
从此载人航天科学突飞猛进。当时间定格在1969年7月16日，美国率先登陆月球完成了人类的这一梦想。到1972年12月阿波罗计划的最后一次飞行——阿波罗17号登月为止，先后有12名宇航员登上月球表面。
人类对于月球有了越来越理性的认识。各次阿波罗飞行都对月球表面进行广泛考察，搜集了大量月球岩石、土壤标本，其中从月球上带回地球的月岩样品就达440公斤。阿波罗飞行同时把许多仪器安装在了月球上，进行科学研究，如太阳风实验和月震测量等。月球不再神秘。
时至今日，月球已经对于人类太空科技的发展已经越来越重要。开发和利用月球资源成为了21世纪的重要课题。这一切就是月球的吸引力和诱惑力之所在。
