爱情鸟－情侣鹦鹉

坦桑尼亚的面罩情侣鹦鹉羽呈绿色，头淡黑褐色，有一条黄色带横跨胸部和后颈；笼养者常见蓝色和淡白色的变种。最大的种类是安哥拉至南非产的玫瑰红面情侣鹦鹉。误称为情侣鹦鹉的有热带美洲森林的小鹦鹉及虎皮鹦鹉。 　　

此种爱情鸟生活非洲的热带雨林，其色彩艳丽，小巧可爱，被认为是鹦鹉中最可爱的一种。情侣鹦鹉是一种非常喜欢群居及深情亲切的鹦鹉，因其深情的天性 而得名。情侣鹦鹉会与伴侣形景不离，相依相偎，而且多是会厮守终生。因为情侣鹦鹉这个天性，德国人称情侣鹦鹉为"die Unzertrennlichen”， 而法国人则它们为"les inséparables"（即英文中的"Inseparables"，意思是“不可分离”）。亦因为这样，大部分人认为，情侣鹦鹉必须是一对一对地饲 养。有些人相信，情侣鹦鹉像其他的鹦鹉一样，只要得到足够的关心及照顾，就可以与人建立友伴关系。情侣鹦鹉是最细小的鹦鹉品种，身型矮胖且有一条短尾，喙 部相对较大，大部分情侣鹦鹉都是绿色的，而且人工配种及变种使很多的颜色出现。

情侣鹦鹉十分好动，故需要一个大小合适的笼舍。可选用金属笼，大小如芙蓉笼。它们需要玩具作咬嚼及玩乐。由于它们喜爱交际，故大部分人认为情侣鹦鹉 不大适宜单独饲养。同类或人类友伴对于其心理及生理健康尤其重要。假若缺乏交际、运动、空间及玩具，它们或会出现拔羽症等其他行为问题。此外，它们每天都 喜欢沐浴。
