Mrs.Crowley: Was he worth it? This Stonehill guy?

John Crowley: He's really eccentric, but his science is way ahead of everybody else's. He's definitely the one to put our money on.

Mrs.Crowley: If we had any.

John Crowley: I promised him that we'd raise some, because he's got this conference up here next month, and I said I'd have a check ready for him.

Mrs.Crowley: How much?

John Crowley: 500.

Mrs.Crowley: That's all?

John Crowley: Thousand.

Mrs.Crowley: Is it $500 or $1,000?

John Crowley: $500,000. By next month.

Mrs.Crowley: Sweetheart, are you totally insane?

John Crowley: Apparently.

Mrs.Crowley: We're holding our first fundraiser on the 23rd at the school, and we would love if you and Frank could join us. Ready for your spelling test?

Megan: I'm gonna nail it.

John Crowley: My name's John Crowley. I'm calling from Oregon, and I got your name from the Atlanta-area Pompe parents' group. Yeah.

Most Americans, however, have some form of private health insurance. This means that the insurance company reimburses, or pays back, a patient for the money spent on medicial bills.

但美国的医疗保险五花八门，常常弄得初次申请者不知所云，有为学生设置的学生医疗保险，也有为富人设置的无限制的实报实销的私营保险。

联邦政府的医疗保险覆盖的范围也十分广阔，有为65岁以上老年人和残疾人提供的“医疗照顾”(medicare)保险，也有为低收入家庭设置的“贫民医疗”(medicaid) 计划。
