我们常在电影中看到中央情报局、联邦调查局、国家安全局几个负责美国国家安全的部门。那么这几个部门之间有什么区别和联系呢？它们各自的分工又是什么呢？

美国中央情报局、联邦调查局、国家安全局的区别

中央情报局（Central Intelligence Agency，中文简称中情局，英文简称CIA）是美国最大的情报机构(美国政府的间谍和反间谍机构，是美国庞大情报系统的总协调机关)，主要任务是公开和秘密地收集和分析关于国外政府、公司和个人在政治、文化、科技等方面的情报，协调其他国内情报机构的活动，并把这些情报报告到美国政府各个部门的工作。

美国联邦调查局（英文全称Federal Bureau of Investigation，英文缩写FBI。但“FBI”也不仅是局称的缩写，还代表着联邦调查局坚持贯彻的信条——忠诚Fidelity，勇敢Bravery和正直Integrity）是美国司法部的主要调查机构，它的职责是调查具体的犯罪。美国联邦调查局也被授权提供其他执法机构的合作服务，如指纹识别，实验室检查，和警察培训。根据美国法典第28条533款，授权司法部长“委任官员侦测反美国的罪行”，另外其它联邦的法令给予FBI权力和职责调查特定的罪行。联邦调查局和中央情报局没有直接的隶属关系。前者归司法部管辖，后者是一个独立的机构，直接向总统负责。

美国国家安全局（National Security Agency，英文缩写NSA，亦可译为国家安全总署）是美国政府机构中最大的情报部门，专门负责收集和分析外国通讯资料，隶属于美国国防部，是根据美国总统的命令成立的部门。负责监听包括电台广播、通讯、互联网，尤其是军事和外交的秘密通讯，掌握有比美国中央情报局还要多的经费，是世界上单独雇佣最多数学博士和电脑专家的单位，但效益却很低，甚至不为美国政府的其他部门所了解，所以它的缩写NSA经常被戏称为“No Such Agency”（无此单位）。
