Should Parents Send Their Kids to Art Classes?
When numerous parents enroll their children in different training classes, various art classes and courses have become their choices. They hope their children are good at piano playing, dancing, drawing or calligraphy in addition to the school work.
Supporters, naturally, do exist. They believe that it is the exclusive method to make the kids more competitive and pave the way for their bright future. Parents believe that on top of enriching children’s life, art classes can also foster children’s ability to appreciate art and beauty.
The opposite ideas, however, could be heard that the unnecessary pressure for success from parents not only ruins the childhood, but also contributes to inefficient and ineffective learning, particularly when the choice does not match children’s interests well.
I personally believe that the combination will be perfect. For the parents, they should attach more attention to children’s preference rather than the expectation of their own and let their children choose what art classes they want to attend. For the children, frequent communication with parents should be ensured so that their interests could be supported and dislikes could be avoided.
