Certificate Craze
Certificate craze has become a big concern of the public in recent years. This prevailing trend not only has long been seen as a routine in colleges and universities, but also has been popular with people from all walks of life now. But why are certificates so popular?
People vary from one another in their purposes for obtaining certificates. Some claim that owning these certificates can give them more edge in the harsh competition of job market and promotion opportunities. The more certificates in hand, the more confident they become. Others, however, hold that additional learning experience, including preparation for the certificate test, enables them to gain useful knowledge and practical skills, and thus a sense of achievement. Moreover, in the process of working for these certificates, they can broaden their horizon and get a deeper understanding of how things are going in certain fields.
As far as I am concerned, one should choose to learn what he or she really needs or truly likes, instead of following suit and wasting time. The certificate ought to cater to the need of one’s career planning and development. As is well-known and commonly accepted, nowadays it is the capabilities, rather than certificates, that matter after all.
