  attention作“注意(力)”解时,是不可数名词。若指对异性“献殷勤” ,则常用复数形式attentions,如:I'm fed up with his attentions.(我受不了他对我直献殷勤。)

  Children usually have a short attention span. (√)

  attentive是形容词,意为“专注(听讲)的”,如:an attentive audience就是指一群专心听讲的听众。这个词只能形容人,不能形容事物。attention span是指“专注的一段时间”,为固定用法。
