1. Everybody freeze: 全都别动。

2. stinking: 很糟糕的，令人讨厌的。

cry stinking fish就是我们常说的“露丑，拆自己的台”。例如：Don't cry stinking fish.（不要自贬身价。）

3. lowlife: 下层阶级的人，卑劣的、或来历不明的人。

例如：He finds his wife has deserted him and with a dirty lowlife too.（他发现他妻子已抛弃他而去和一个龌龊的下流胚在一起。）

4. hillbilly: 山区乡巴佬。Hillbilly music就是指“乡土音乐，乡村民歌”。

5. bumps and bruises: 皮外伤。

例如：Our football team really took it on the chin today. The members are all bumps and bruises. （我们的足球队今天可吃够了苦头，队员们个个鼻青脸肿。）

6. a heck of: heck是hell的委婉语，用来强调语气，例如： The couple had a heck of an argument.这两夫妻吵得够呛。

the heck of it用在口语中表示“最糟的是”。

7. jumpsuit：连衫裤，这里表示囚衣。

8. old buddy: 老伙计，buddy用在口语中表示“密友，伙伴”。

9. chalk it up: 宣布，公布于众。

chalk it up to experience指的是“从…中吸取教训（或经验）”。

10.language barrier: 语言障碍。

11.pronounce you man and wife：宣布你们结为，婚礼时的用语。
