1. journeys end in lovers meeting: 漂泊止于爱人相会/恋人相会就是旅程的尽头。

2. more than willing to believe: 十分愿意相信。相似的用法如more than happy to do something（非常乐意做某事）。

3. Love is blind: 爱情是盲目的（意指看不见对方的缺点，即所谓的情人眼里出西施。）

4. inexplicably: 无法解释地，难以理解地。形容词形式是inexplicable。例如：an inexplicable fire（一场原因不明的火灾）。

5. unrequited love: 没有回报的爱，单相思，单恋。请看例子：

Lot is accounting principle; love is intangible asset; lover is accounts payable; missing him is book of account; quarrel is provision for bad debts; unrequited love is bad debt; falling in love with a wrong person is a big accounting misplay; break-up is closing entry; loneliness is accumulated depreciation.

缘分是会计原则；爱情是无形资产；爱人是应付帐款；想他是日记帐；吵架是坏帐准备；暗恋是坏帐；错爱是重大会计失误；分手是结帐分录；孤单是累计折旧。

unrequited的意思是“得不到报答的，没有回报的，没有受到报复的”。例如：Wickedness does not go altogether unrequited.（[谚]恶有恶报。）

6. Valium: 瓦利姆镇定药。

7. shag someone: 和某人做爱。

8. drip: <口>讨厌的家伙，无用的人。

9. head over heels: 神魂颠倒。

10. prick: <粗>卑鄙的人。

11. call somebody names: 辱骂某人。看一下例子：During the fighting, the children were calling each other names.（在斗殴中，孩子们互相辱骂。）

12. blooming: 气愤等时用以加强语气，可作形容词，也可作副词用，作形容词时译为“十足的；讨厌的，该死的”，例如：a blooming idiot（大傻瓜），作副词时意思是“十足，非常；该死”，例如：blooming painful（痛得要命）。

13. file: （记者用电报、电话）发送（报道等给报社）。

14. down to the wire: 等到最后一刻，接近最后期限。看一下例子：Peter always waits until the last minute to do his work. I could never leave it down to the wire like that.（彼得总是等到最后一刻才开始做事。我从不想他那样等到最后一刻才开始干。）
