“people person”指的是什么样的人？

《70年代秀》里Eric准备和朋友去面试汉堡店里的工作，

面试时出现了这么一段对话：

—Tell me, what do you consider your best quality?

—I'm a real people person.

——告诉我，你觉得自己最大的优点是什么?

——我善于社交。

“people”和“person”虽然都表示“人”，

但是“people person”不能翻译为“人人”，

而是要翻译为

“有人缘的人;善于与人打交道的人;受欢迎的人”。

它的英文解释是

Someone who is particularly gregarious, affable, or outgoing; someone with great interpersonal communication skills.

这个表达可以用在面试中哦。

My late grandfather was such a people person. Whenever he was in the room, everyone was all smiles.

1. social butterfly 交际花

可千万不要把“交际花”翻译成“social flower”!

A social butterfly moves among people at a gathering easily, like a butterfly flying from flower to flower.

交际花是指在聚会中能够在人群中自在游走，就像蝴蝶在花朵间来回穿梭一样。

这样的人很喜欢与人交流。

举个例子：

Tom's always been something of a social butterfly, so we've never really worried about him making friends or finding his way in the world.

汤姆很喜欢与人打交道，所以我们从不担心他找不到朋友或者没有立足之地。

2. gregarious [grɪ'geərɪəs]

adj. 爱交际的，合群的

gre-源自group，表示群体的意思+arious:爱……的

爱群体的人一般是很喜欢社交的人。(seeking and enjoying the company of others)

举个例子：

These people are always gregarious and outgoing.

这些人通常很爱社交、性格外向。
